A well-conceived instrument must allow a wide range of stylistic possibilities, always maintaining its own character. This includes first of all the compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach.
It was a pleasure to fulfil the desire to perform a French-style organ with symphonic expression. For this purpose, our knowledge acquired in the restoration of French Baroque and Romantic instruments has been an important aid.
The stoplist established in this regard was later defined, through consultation with the organist and expert. It also fulfils the initial desire of the client to have a large instrument, which had to be dispensed due to lack of space.
The organ is basically a mechanical instrument. To meet the desire for versatility, we have also designed some stops accessible by electric transmission to be available on different manuals or on the pedal.
This solution makes the organ very resourceful and have made it possible to achieve the sound richness of a much larger organ.
The Grand Orgue and Récit contain the characteristic stops. The second manual groups both the horizontal trumpet, reeds and Cornet, all are composed of individual registers. Behind the altar is the fourth keyboard, the “Orgue d’Autel” as a remote body, with a Poetic Flute, a Clarinet and the two undulating registers: Aeoline and Celeste. Expert Dimitri Grigoriev has found a nice description for this Body of the Echo: "It's like a sound cream on the cake."
The Medicis became famous during the Renaissance as the protectors of art; it is very gratifying to see how today these gestures still exist. In this case, the instrument has been entirely sponsored by Dr. Sigurd Pütter since the founding of his company MEDICE. We appreciate the good trust and collaboration with the client, organists and experts.
